Parkerpalooza is a student run music festival aimed at promoting teenage artists in the Chicagoland area while simultaneously bringing awareness to homelessness in Chicago. This year is Parkerpalooza's third year bringing music to the masses, and we are excited to hold the event with our partner organization, the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless.
Each year, scores of bands apply to be a part of Chicago that come from over 30 different schools from across the Chicagoland area. They end up raising thousands of dollars for the chosen cause. Eventually, the best bands are chosen to participate. This year, the Parkerpalooza has decided to add a twist to the event. Bands that are chosen to play will be judged by the crowd. The band that the crowd decided is the best will receive a grand prize.
The event will be held at the Francis W. Parker School on May 22, 2010. Doors open at 2:00 PM. The Headliner will close by 8:30 PM. This is an ALL AGES event, and as such, there will be activities there for the whole family if you care to pull yourself away from musical prodigies that will be performing.
Tickets will be sold for $15 at the door. Sales will end at 6:45. Tickets can also be pre-ordered online at a reduced price of $12.
Please make sure to check the site regularly to access important information about the bands, the schedule, the headliner, the cause, and all events that will take place on the 22nd of May. All questions should be directed to Performing@fwparker.org.
